The Journey Home – The Halftime Report

Well…. we are halfway through this Journey Home and we’ve been tested and we’ve had joy and we’ve had wild emotions and we have made it through so far.

We’ve witnessed my cousin Toni’s reunion with her dad and her while U.S. family, we witnessed his reunion with his brother. I’ve had a beautiful reunion with a childhood friend. It’s just been an amazing journey filled with new and renewed love.

And the best part, in my mind, is that my business… this business… this little tea company that I️ have plugged away at day in and day out has been the means by which we were able to make all of this happen.

Congrats Sunshine Teas Louisiana for being a strong supporter of adoptees and adoptee first family reunions.

Coming up…. my reunion. And I am so excited and thrilled to be able meet my sisters and my aunties and my nieces and nephews and my step mother. What a huge blessing all of this.

Sunshine Teas- The Journey Home

What does “Home” mean to you?

Is it a physical place where you lay your head or is it inside your heart when you feel at peace?

For Sunshine Teas owner, Sara Heslin Woods, the journey home is both physical and spiritual.  Home is represented by both the physical through her returning to her birth place and also visiting the birth place of her father, as well as represented by the spiritual- a returning to the Original Source of Love.  A return to the Love of her Fsther- both ohysical and spiritual.

The merging of the spiritual and physical have always been a priority for Sunshine Teas Louisiana.  Our special blends of a tea, a fruit and a flower, made with love in a deliberately peaceful environment embody the principle that a strong mind equals a strong body.  We also strongly believe that what you consume affects your vibration and therefore your emotions.

As we share this story of Love, Hope and Restoration, we invite you to come along.

Enlightenment Tea

Enlightenment Tea

Sunshine Teas Louisiana

Enlightenment Tea – Buddha Tea (Linden), Lotus and Pineapple

Sunshine Tea Louisiana’s Enlightenment Tea is a tea that is designed with your spiritual growth and physical health in mind.  In addition to the nutrients and medicinal properties of all three ingredients, there is a special traditional spiritual aspect to every ingredient added with the express purpose of elevating your potential to meet your highest self.

First and foremost is the Lotus Flower.  The Lotus has long been a symbol of enlightenment.  In Hindu and Buddhist mythology, many deities are represented sitting on a lotus blossom or carrying a lotus.  It is seen as a symbol of the sacred feminine creative energy.  It serves at the bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds.  In the Kama Sutra, the most skilled woman in the art of love making is the Louts Woman.   In Ayurveda practices, the Lotus is a symbol of eternity, purity and divinity.  True enlightenment can only be achieved when the physical, spiritual and intellectual are in perfect alignment and all chakra are flowing.  Drinking the Lotus flower will help aid in the alignment of these energies in the quest for your highest self.

On a physical level, Lotus flowers can help with skin tone and gastrointestinal and reproductive issues like acid reflux, as well as help with male prolonged intimacy issues. They are rich with iron and nutrients and can also assist in melanin production and helps prevent grey hairs.

The second ingredient in Enlightenment Tea is Linden.  Linden, also called Buddha Tea,  is well known for it’s calming and soothing properties.  A calm and meditative body and soul are key to bringing yourself to enlightenment.  Linden can assist those doing vibration work.  It helps us build an evolved circuit board that will more easily integrate with the rising planetary vibration.  It also simultaneously keeps us grounded.  No words can do justice to this pillar of light or the profound way it can help us move through this time with greater ease and grace.  Linden is especially helpful for people born before 1978 because we have an outdated circuit board that needs to be updated.  Linden assists in this updating.

The physical health benefits of Linden are largely due to the high concentration of phytonutrients, flavonoids, and other diaphoretic substances.  In addition to reducing stress and anxiety, it has a high level of anti-oxidants that help in the reduction of free radicals in the body.  Quercetin and kaempferol both act as free radical scavengers, eliminating these harmful byproducts of cellular respiration from your system and improving your overall health by preventing chronic disease. These are particularly effective for protecting the skin against signs of aging and exposure to the sun as you age.  Linden also has P-coumaric acid which induces sweating that helps break a fever and helps reduce inflammation that causes pain from arthritis and tension headaches.

The final ingredient in Enlightenment Tea is Pineapple.  Pineapples have long been associated with friendship and hospitality.  It is also name a pineapple because of its pinecone like appearance.  From an enlightenment standpoint, the pinecone is one of the most recognized universal symbols, seen in temples on religious art throughout the ages.  Pine cones are symbols of the pineal gland, which is also called the Third Eye, or also the Seat of the Soul.  Pineapples in Enlightenment Tea plays the final chord in the trilogy of enlightenment aids.

From a health perspective pineapples’ nutritional benefits are as fascinating as their anatomy. Pineapples contain high amounts of vitamin C and manganese. These tropical treats are also a good way to get important dietary fiber and bromelain (an enzyme). “As well as having high amounts of manganese, which is important for antioxidant defenses, pineapples also contain high amounts of thiamin, a B vitamin that is involved in energy production,” Flores said.

Pineapple contains half of the daily-recommended value of vitamin C, according to the FDA. Vitamin C is a primary water-soluble antioxidant that fights cell damage, this makes vitamin C a helpful fighter against problems such as heart disease and joint pain.

Pineapple may help you keep standing tall and strong. The fruit contains nearly 75 percent of the daily-recommended value of the mineral manganese, which is essential in developing strong bones and connective tissue,  and may be helpful in preventing osteoporosis in post-menopausal women. Finally, pineapples can help reduce the risk of macular degeneration, a disease that affects the eyes as people age, due in part to its high amount of vitamin C and the antioxidants it contains,

Enlightenment Tea combines Buddha Tea (Linden), Lotus Flower and Pineapple for a sweet flavorful brew.   Not only strong in nutritional value in aiding keeping your body strong and healthy, Enlightenment Tea brings three distinct enlightenment devices together in one special brew.

Papa Woods’ Magical Royal Tea

September is almost over and October is right around the corner. October is such a magical time of the year – green leaves turn to bright reds, golds, and orange – the weather starts cooling down and the harvest starts coming in.
With this magic in mind, we are giving a sneak peak of October’s Tea of the Month: Papa Woods’ Magical Royal Tea – Ginseng Tea with Butterfly Pea Flower and Elderberry.
This tea is an homage to my father in law – Herman Woods – who worked for GM for 30 years, walking to work in below zero temperatures from his home on the East Side of Buffalo to the plant out in Tonawanda, New York (if you have ever walked there, the wind is brutal). He always credited his Royal Ginseng to his stamina.
His favorite flower was the Butterfly Pea. He loved the “Royal” color of it. The blossoms turn your tea a beautiful Royal Blue. It has a subtle rich flavor that is soothing. It is full of anti-oxidants, so it is good for clearing your system of free radicals. It is also considered “magic” – add a couple drops of lemon and watch what happens.
He left us to go to glory in July 2011 at age 90, but his spirit still lives on. He was an amazing father to my husband and grandfather to our children. He is truly missed every single day. Help us honor his memory by buying his tea and watching the magic unfold before your eyes.
$23 per order includes shipping. We accept Paypal (just click the link). Each order also includes some lemon to add to the tea for the full magical experience.
Order today and we will throw in a sample of one of our other signature teas.

It’s a Tea, A fruit and a flower all perfectly blended to bring a little sunshine into your life!

Big Orange Tea

Sunshine Tea’s Tea of the Month for September is Big Orange.  It is a blend of Rooibos Tea, Calendula and Oranges.  Not only is it the perfect tea to play homage to Autumn colors, it is also an homage to one of my favorite college teams, the Tennessee Vols. (Also my alma mater).

Rooibois is a tea grown on a bush in the Cederberg (West Cape Province) region of South Africa.   It is  commonly known as  bush tea (especially in Southern Africa) or sometimes redbush tea (especially in Great Britain   It is also consider a much more flavorful tea than green, white, and black teas.

Health benefits of red rooibos tea  include its use as a cure for nagging headaches, insomnia, asthma, eczema, bone weakness, hypertension, allergies, and premature aging. The tea is absolutely free from caffeine content and is also low in tannins.
Calendula is also known as a member of the marigold family. The blooms that we use for our tea are a light orange color.  Calendula is know for it’s anti-inflammatory properties and also as a gastrointestinal aid when you have an upset stomach.
Rooibos Tea has a beautiful orange color when brewed.  Both Calendula and Oranges are high in Vitamins C, so Big Orange is the perfect tea for those chilly Autumn evenings.
Served either hot or cold, it is a delicious addition to your tailgate or at home football parties.
Order from Big Orange Tea today from Sunshine Teas.  Each order is $23 and it includes shipping.  Send payment to our PayPal account – and add a note indicating that you want an order of Big Orange with your shipping address
It’s a tea, a fruit and a flower all perfectly blended to bring a little sunshine into your life.
